About
A home for Yale, half a world from New Haven.
The Yale Club of Hong Kong exists to strengthen the bonds between graduates and friends of Yale University, and to promote Yale and its interests in Hong Kong.
President’s Welcome
Dear fellow Yalie,
Carolyn Yeh ’00
President, Yale Club of Hong Kong
Welcome to the Yale Club of Hong Kong. We bring together enthusiastic Yale alumni living in one of the world’s most exciting cities — a community that represents the diversity and excellence that defines Yale.
While we share close ties with Yale in New Haven, our club is operated entirely by volunteer members. Our success depends wholly on the dedication and enthusiasm of our alumni community.
I invite you to explore and learn more about the club, and to discover the array of events we plan throughout the year. Getting involved is a wonderful way to connect with Yale alumni across all schools and graduation years, to contribute to Yale’s continued success, and to have fun building lasting friendships.
We look forward to welcoming you to our community.
Boola boola!
One of the most vibrant Yale clubs outside the United States.
We are composed of over 600 alumni from most of Yale’s fifteen schools. Hong Kong and Yale are nearly half a world apart — the Club is the organization that brings them closer.
An all-volunteer organization
The Club is a registered not-for-profit. None of our leaders is compensated for the tremendous time and energy they devote — we are grateful for their generous service to Yale and Hong Kong.
Led by its members
Our Board is elected annually by the membership and meets bimonthly to plan the Club’s activities. Every member is invited to take on a leadership role — simply reach out to express your interest.
What we do
The Club counted more than a hundred and thirty activities in a recent year, run by over fifty volunteers. They fall, as they have for years, into four kinds.
Social
The Lunch Club, the hikes, the Ivy Ball, Feb Club, the Christmas party and its gift exchange — plus whatever a member proposed that month.
Intellectual
The speaker series and visiting Yale faculty — deans, professors, and on occasion Yale's president.
Artistic & musical
The Yale Alumni Chamber Music Society, an original fusion opera, and a standing programme of gallery and museum visits.
Community service
Tree planting on Lantau, kindness walks with ImpactHK, the Yale Day of Service, and work with elderly residents.
Beyond our events
How we serve Yale & the community.
The Club supports many ongoing efforts that strengthen the bond between Yale and Hong Kong.
Representing Yale
We send a delegate to New Haven for the annual YAA Assembly, interview Yale College applicants with the local Alumni Schools Committee (ASC), and represent Yale at education fairs across the region.
Yale & New Asia College
We support the long-standing relationship between Yale and New Asia College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and help facilitate academic and cultural exchanges.
Supporting students
We help Yale students find internships and opportunities in Hong Kong, and welcome visiting faculty to share their work with our community.
Recognized among the world’s best
The Yale Club of Hong Kong has been one of the most active clubs in the world, and has received the Yale Alumni Association Board of Governors’ Excellence Award six times: in 2019 as best international club; in 2020 for its nonprofit work donating face masks to Yale New Haven Hospital during Covid; in 2021 for its many community service activities; in 2022 for promoting real friendships through the Lunch Club; in 2023 for broad leadership and the diversity of its programs; and in 2025 for the work of YaleWomen Hong Kong.
“For embracing Yale values of openness, inclusion, collaboration, and impact, and for enhancing and renewing the lifelong Yale experience for all alumni.”

Meet the people behind the Club
Our Board and committee heads give their time freely, year after year. Many of our past presidents continue to serve as advisors.
